Clarence House
Inspiring the Next Generation of Butchers
Challenge
With demand rising for high-quality meat and a shortage of skilled butchers, The Prince of Wales sought to engage more young people in the trade.
Approach
Commissioned by Clarence House, LuminAura produced a video highlighting a Prince’s Trust and Duchy Originals initiative to introduce unemployed youth to butchery careers.
The video features Peter Gott of Sillfield Farm—who hosts trainees from Jamie Oliver’s 15 restaurant—leading a hands-on, three-day course for 16–20-year-olds. Participants gained practical skills and in-depth knowledge of producing high-quality cuts and cured meats.
Results
• Raised awareness of butchery career paths among young people
• Supported youth training efforts by Prince’s Trust and Duchy Originals
• Highlighted hands-on learning as key to skill development
• Boosted public engagement with Clarence House initiatives
