St Christopher’s Hospice
Creative Arts in Palliative Care
Challenge
How can creative arts be used to support people at the end of life—emotionally, socially, and spiritually?
Approach
LuminAura produced a video for St Christopher’s Hospice, documenting the use of arts in palliative care settings. The video showcased real workshops and highlighted the impact of the arts in addressing the psychological, social, and spiritual needs of those at the end of life.
We partnered with the BRIT School to deliver and film the sessions, capturing the impact of intergenerational collaboration. The video also served as a resource for developing training sessions for local community groups working with people nearing the end of their lives.
The project provided practical guidance on how to integrate creative approaches into palliative and community care.
Results
• Documented creative workshops in real care environments
• Supported training and guidance for community organisations
• Promoted understanding of the role of arts in end-of-life care
• Strengthened partnership between hospice and creative education
